My wife Lori and I spent the Canada Day weekend at our family cottages in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Nephews and water sports occupied most of my attention, but Manitoba’s unusual summer kept bringing me back to the capital markets.
Lori’s family was evacuated twice from their cottage at West Hawk Lake – the first was because a forest fire was threatening and the second because the road was flooding. Yes, they went from fire to flood in a matter of weeks.
